‘Ngunda’ download

Product Description

Stone Flowers is a group of refugee and asylum seeker torture survivors supported by UK charities Freedom from Torture and Music Action International. Through their music they seek to reflect on experiences of trauma in a positive way, and focus on themes like exile and reconciliation, new beginnings, and the transformative effect of hope.

Group members come from conflict-affected areas, like Iraq, Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan, bringing together a vibrant mix of musical and cultural influences from Congolese Soukous to Tamil folk. They perform in many languages, including English, Lingala, Farsi and Kurdish.
